Volunteer Opportunity in Leadhills, South Lanarkshire

We've heard that Leadhills Miners Library, an old Scottish subscription library, needs skilled volunteers. This could be a good opportunity for someone with library skills and a bit of time to spare - and would enrich your CV at the same time.

Glasgow School of Art visit 28/6/13

SALCTG West and GLTU visited Glasgow School of Art last week - see the Storify below for a snapshot of reactions. At the very bottom are links to the GSA Library and GLTU blogs which have more detailed reviews if you are interested. From an academic library point of view, the highlights were InfosmART, GSA's information literacy programme which you probably already know about, and The Hatchery which is very new and might not, therefore, be known to everyone. This is a site to showcase how artists, writers and creatives have used GSA's collections to inspire, challenge or expand their practice; an excellent idea which other libraries might want to investigate for their own areas of expertise.
