Gaming In the Library? Training Course for Scottish HE Librarians

Why not start the year off with some interesting training? Following November's SALCTG Plenary, we decided to run a library training session early in the new year. The training prioritisation activity following the plenary discussion highlighted gamification as a possible topic, so we have organised for Andrew Walsh from University of Huddersfield to run a similar workshop to the one advertised the other day on lis-link.

We are able to hold the workshop at Glasgow Caledonian University's CPD Centre on Friday the 6th of March. It will be an all-day session, likely to run between 9.30-4.30 and will only cost £45 to SALCTG members. We can hold a larger group for this session - please feel free to request more than one space at the workshop. Payment for this workshop will be through our online shop

This is some of the feedback Andrew Walsh provided for the May sessions:-

“I found the day exceptionally useful and well done. I was really impressed by how well Andrew Walsh incorporated theory and background into a primarily hands-on training. I got quite a few tips for teaching and engaging students through play that were totally new for me and I believe that certain aspects of what he taught will stick with me, particularly the caveats and pitfalls for developing games in university contexts.”
